The developers of the private cryptocurrency Grin, which is based on the MimbleWimble protocol from an unknown creator, reported on the launch of its main network. However, since its launch is associated with testing new technologies, users are warned about the possible risks of its use.
The features of the solution include ample scalability, decentralization, the lack of user addresses and information about previous transactions in the network, as well as the generation of new units every minute and the CWoo Cycle hash algorithm that is resistant to hacking from quantum computers. Due to this, Grin blockchain is easy enough to allow full nodes to run even on mobile devices.
Also, the developers reported that in the future they will hold several hard forks to counteract the use of ASIC equipment for mining.
